CBD Dosage Guide: CBD products have become more popular in Hong Kong and they all come in different concentrations, forms and sizes. It can be confusing to learn what are the differences and how to find the right dosage. The ideal dosage of CBD depends on a variety of different factors, including your weight, your desired effects, your tolerance to CBD, the potency of the CBD product you are taking, and more.
How much CBD should I take?
We have put together four simple steps to help you find the right CBD dosage for your CBD gummies, CBD oil, and water-soluble CBD:
Step 1: Identify your starting dose based on the condition you wish to improve and your weight
Different conditions require different strengths and the first step of finding your starting dose is based on your weight. Below is a chart to help you find out how to identify your CBD dosage based on the condition you wish to improve and your weight:
|Weight Metric||Low Strength||Medium Strength||High Strength|
|Kilograms||0.2mg per kg||0.5mg per kg||0.8 mg per kg|
- Anxiety → medium to high strength
- Arthritis → medium to high strength
- Cancer → high strength or pharmaceutical grade
- Chronic pain → medium to high strength
- Epilepsy → high strength or pharmaceutical grade
- General health → low strength
- High blood pressure → medium to high strength
- Migraine headaches → low to high strength
- Muscle recovery → low to medium strength
- Nausea → low to medium strength
- Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) → low to high strength
- Insomnia → medium to high strength
- Focus → low strength
To calculate the optimal CBD starting doses for your condition based on your weight: [YOUR WEIGHT IN POUNDS/kg] x [DESIRED STRENGTH]= [YOUR DOSE IN MG CBD]
Or you can use the CBD oil Dosage Calculator HERE, the calculator calculates based on your weight and desired effect:
Step 2: Determine the Potency of your CBD oil
The potency of the CBD product you’re using has a direct impact on the amount you’ll need to reach the optimal dosage. For example, a high-strength CBD oil containing 1000 mg of CBD per 30ml will require ten times less oil to reach a given dose of CBD than a low-potency oil with just 150 mg per 30ml.
You can use this formula to calculate the potency of your CBD product:
[CBD IN MG] ÷ [BOTTLE SIZE IN ML] = [CBD IN MG/ML]
Here is the potency for our Rebounce CBD products:
|Product||CBD oil 500mg||CBD oil 1000mg||CBD Gummies||Water Soluble CBD 2000mg|
|Bottle size||30ml||30ml||15 pcs||10ml|
|Concentration||16mg per ml||33mg per ml||10mg per pcs||7mg per drop|
Step 3: Convert the starting dose into the amount of CBD you need to take
Now that you know your starting dose, you can convert it to the amount of CBD you need to take to based on the potency of your product, below is a simple chart to help you to figure out based on the product potency, your weight, and the strength.
The steps listed above will help you find the ideal starting dose based on your condition and weight in CBD and how much CBD oil you need to take to reach that dose.
The next step is to start taking this dose and slightly tweak the amount every day until you find what works best for you. You can increase the dose as needed until reaching the desired effects.
